Ruskin’s view in the mist…

This week, Year 5 went down in to Kirkby Lonsdale to look at the famous ‘Ruskin’s View’. It was a very misty, murky day which added to the mystery and history. The children took watercolours and painted what they observed. The results which dramatic and impressive. Next week they will compare theirs to different landscape portraits.

On Wednesday 25th we are lucky enough to have the museum of Lakeland Life coming in to school. They will be talking to us about how photographers in the past have helped us understand changes in landscapes and lifestyle over the years. The children will look at the progress in local wool trade and artefacts connected to it. There will even be an opportunity to tie the two elements together and do some wool weaving on some twigs to mirror local landscapes.
