We have been using the parachute outside to develop our co-ordination skills, we have tried to keep a ball balanced on the parachute and played a brilliant game to bounce the ball off the parachute. Our favourite game is to all try and hide underneath the parachute!

We have been exploring colour, we squirted food colouring onto kitchen paper and watched as the colours mixed together and changed into new colours. We have been learning all the colours of the rainbow and have printed a giant rainbow with our hands.

We have made a fantastic firework splatter picture in Nursery. We threw paint on the black paper. we splatted with paint brushes and finally we added glitter. We have also made fireworks to hang in front of our picture and most importantly talked about how to stay safe on bonfire night.

Roald Dahl’s Revolting kitchen has moved into Nursery, we are going to make as many Revolting Recipes as we can. The children have already made ghost soup, spider spaghetti and play dough pizza – Yuk! The children have loved dressing up with chef’s hats and aprons to create their Revolting Dishes.

Rev Richard Snow has been with our Nursery and Reception class this week celebrating harvest. We retold the story of The Little Red Hen and then sang some Harvest songs and prayers.  Rev. In YN and YR we explored “Germany” on European Languages’ Day. We dressed up in black, red and yellow – the colours of the German flag. We also made pretzels, printed giant flags, learned to count and say “hello” in German and made cuckoo clocks.

Our children have had a wonderful day exploring different languages and countries. They have learned where countries are in the world. The languages spoken in that country as well as the capital cities.  They have explored activities to celebrate that country as well as dress up in the colours of the country. In school we […]
