How many conkers did you find?

Maths is an important part of learning for all children in the early years and receiving a good grounding in maths is an essential life skill.  Lots of our Maths is done practically through natural, inquisitive problem solving.  We focus on number but also enjoy measuring and developing our own spatial awareness.

Here we used Numicon (a maths resources to help us visualise the value of numbers) to help us count the conkers we’d collected.  Who has more/less/the same?

We enjoy singing songs to help us with our Maths concepts (ten little spacemen is our favourite at the moment) and watching Numberblocks to grasp an idea of the quantity of a number and match it to the numeral.
