Headteacher’s Welcome

Our school is ideally located on the edge of Kirkby Lonsdale.  Kirkby Lonsdale is an historic and popular market town and our school has a long standing tradition for providing an exceptional education for our children.  The outdoors and local environment is a perfect extension of our classrooms and we make every effort to access this excellent resource. We take every advantage of the Lune Valley and Lake District to provide a creative and inspiring education for all of our children.

Every child in our school should have a happy and exciting time whilst being challenged and inspired. We believe our curriculum is creative and is aspirational, encouraging our children to be creative thinkers.

Kindness, honesty and respect are key threads in everything we do as well as taking responsibility and perseverance in the face of challenge.  I am often bowled over by the thoughtfulness of our children and their care towards others.  Importantly we have high academic expectations and we hope to inspire a deep love of learning that will flourish in the future.

We have a strong sporting reputation both for celebrating excellence and ensuring participation for all children. Outdoor learning forms a central part of our curriculum, balanced with a strong emphasis on STEM and the arts.  I hope that our school will provide your child with a very positive, balanced and enriching start to their education.  If you chose to visit us, I am sure you will sense the warm and welcoming atmosphere we appreciate on a day to day basis.
