We braved the howling wind and persistent rain and had a wonderful time at the Roman Army Museum and Vindolanda Fort. We learned all about life in the Roman army and the desolate conditions in which they had to live…we really aren’t sure why the Romans actually wanted to come this far north, but we concluded it couldn’t always have been like that!
